To promote innovation and science-based decision making, CSSF serves as a catalyst for coastal managers as they explore and apply the most innovative management techniques and decisions to the nations pressing coastal economic, social, cultural and environmental issues.

To promote improved stewardship of coastal and ocean resources, CSSF educates the public about the benefits and value of healthy and productive coastal ecosystems.
